Get paid to be a Journey Makr scout
Say hello to Journey Makr
Journey Makr is a tourism and hospitality innovation company based in Sydney, Australia. We’ve developed a way for accommodation businesses (hotels and holiday listings) to make money before their guests arrive without having to lift a finger. We do this by curating a bespoke and bookable digital guide that’s a deeply immersive and purpose-led experience for their guests.
We are now building a community of passionate travel writers and bloggers around the world to create travel tips as a side hustle and be part of this exciting journey.

How does it work?
1. Sign up and add a tip
This is the best way for you to get a feel for how it all works and for us to make sure the tone and style is on point.
2. Join the community
Once our editor is happy we will invite you to our private Slack channel where you will meet other amazing travel writers with a similar passion around the world.
3. Get briefed
Our content team will put all new briefs in your Slack channel. It will include the locations, deadline and budget. As we are a new start-up briefs could come in daily or weekly depending on demand so please be patient with us.
4. Get paid
Our budgets may vary and you might not be able to quit your day job just yet, but we promise they will get better and it will be the most exciting side hustle you have.
We will also throw in exclusive travel vouchers offers as we go…
What makes a good tip?
We are on a mission to find all the hidden gems that only the locals know about. The things to eat, drink, see and do that you won’t find on Google!
Start with a simple headline that tells people what the tip is about. For example, “The most beautiful waterfall.” “The best place to watch the sunset.” “The best coffee in town.” “A restaurant off the beaten track.” “A secret running trail.” Whatever you love, travellers will love too!
Then, simply add 2-5 punchy sentences about what makes it so special. Keep the tone of voice conversational with occasional use of first person.
